Final decision on Bt brinjal would reflect public sentiment: Ramesh

Two days prior to the D-Day vis-a-vis the final decision on the commercialisation of Bt brinjal in India, Minister of Environment and Forests Jairam Ramesh, on Monday said the decision would reflect the overall sentiments of the general public. Bt brinjals are transgenic eggplants created by inserting a gene cry1Ac from soil bacterium Bacillus thuringiensis into the vegetable.
