India's Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar said on Wednesday that high food prices might start stabilizing in seven to 10 days, following the measures unveiled by the government. Pawar also that said a decision has been taken by a Cabinet panel to extend duty-free imports of white sugar by nine months to December 31, 2010. Pawar further added that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh would convene a meeting with state Chief Ministers to discuss the implementation of the Essential Commodities Act.
