French Chief of Defence Forces, Admiral Edouard Guillaud, received the guard of honour during his visit in national capital New Delhi on Monday. Admiral Guillaud is in New Delhi ahead of French President Nicolas Sarkozy's visit to India in December in a bid to enhance military ties between the two countries.The visit of the French defence chief comes at a time when the two countries are going to sign a deal expected to be worth over USD two billion for upgrading the 50 Mirage-2000 aircraft of the Indian Air Force.
