Ganga may run dry

The Ganga is considered the holiest river of India. For many the river is Ganga Maiyya or the Mother Incarnate. However, recent studies show that this mother is dying. India's holiest river is under greater threat than ever before, according to scientists and meteorologists. According to a UN climate report, the Himalayan glaciers that are the source of the Ganges could disappear by 2030 as temperatures rise.
