Gujarat on alert

The Gujarat Police has tightened security in the state following an intelligence alert highlighting the possibility of militants striking key installations and oil refineries in Jamnagar. The Intelligence Bureau had recently alerted authorities in Jamnagar and Gandhinagar about the sinister plans of suspected Lashkar-e-Taiba militants of striking facilities in these towns. Police has also boosted security along the coastal region around Jamnagar to prevent militants from entering the region from Pakistan via the sea route.
