Heavy rains floods low-lying areas in Thiruvananthapuram

While northern India is reeling under severe cold, southern India suffers incessant rainfalls. From the last 24 hours constant downpour has flooded many low-lying areas and housing colonies in Trivandrum. As on Thursday many houses were seen submerged in floodwater and residents were seen wading through the water to carry out their daily chores. The city has so far received 7 millimeters of rainfall in the last one day.
