India seeks factual report on its citizens detained in China

India's Foreign Secretary Nirupama Rao on Tuesday said that India has sought a report from its embassy on its citizens detained by Chinese authorities. As per reports Chinese authorities detained 21 Indians last week on charges of diamond smuggling in the Shenzhen region. The arrests by Beijing come in the wake of three Chinese engineers detained by India in its central state of Chhattisgarh in connection with a chimney crash at the BALCO plant.
