A Mumbai court on Monday granted eight days police custody to the seven accused arrested in connection with the killing of senior journalist J Dey. Police, on late Sunday night, had arrested four people from Maharashtra while other three from Rameshwaram. Claiming the case is cracked, police was under tremendous pressure as the Bombay high court on June 21 had given them two more weeks to submit their probe report into Dey's killing. According to certain media reports, police authorities have termed the killing of Dey as a contract killing but motive is not known yet.
