Jiabao hopeful of better friendship, reaching 'consensus'

Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao, after receiving a warm welcome at the forecourt of the Indian Presidential Palace in New Delhi on Thursday, hoped to strengthen the commercial as well as strategic ties with India, to help secure a better future for both the countries. He further hailed India as a great neighbour and expressed confidence that the two countries would reach important strategic consensus during the visit and take bilateral ties to an even higher level. Wen arrived in India for a three-day visit Wednesday afternoon. During formal delegation level talks, the two sides are likely to set a new doller 60 billion-plus target for bilateral trade this year.
