Kashmir's Shina community demands ST status

Shina community in the Kangan town of Jammu and Kashmir has demanded Schedule Tribe status to gain access to facilities provided by the government under the Schedule Tribe Act. The demand is based on the argument that other people of the same community have already got the special status.
