Lok Sabha, Rajya Sabha adjourned for the day

As expected, pandemonium marked the first day of the winter session of parliament, today. The session started with an uproar in the Lok Sabha, over the political situation in Uttar Pradesh. The members demanded a discussion on Uttar Pradesh chief minister Mayawati's resolution seeking the division of the state in four parts, which was passed by UP Assembly yesterday. The house was adjourned for the day following the ruckus.
