People celebrate `Chhath festival' with religious fervour

Hundreds of devotees thronged markets to make last minute purchase for the Chhath Pooja in Patna on Monday. Former state Chief minister of Bihar Rabri Devi too made preparations for the festival along with family members. The festival is celebrated in Bihar and in some parts of neighbouring Uttar Pradesh state. According to tradition, people buy earthen ovens to prepare offering made to Sun God during the festival.
