'People's views are hardly reckoned by lawmakers'

Speaking in favour of the people's objective of a corrupt-free system and governance in tune with the crusade launched by social activist Anna Hazare, Justice N Santosh Hegde, Lokayukta of Karnataka and a panel member of the committee reviewing and drafting the Lokpal Bill, observed that the lawmakers, be at the national or state level, have never reckoned people's views. While addressing a gathering of intellectuals and the mediapersons at Dona Paula in Goa on Monday, Hegde said that Hazare did as much as he could.
