Petrol cheaper by 56 paise per litre from midnight

The Indian Oil Corporation today slashed the price of petrol by 56 paise per litre to be effective from midnight. The reduction in petrol prices has reportedly been implemented in wake of criticism being faced by the UPA government over its decision of increasing diesel prices and imposing a cap on subsidized LPG cylinders.
