PM rules out deploying army to counter Maoists

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Saturday ruled out the use of army against Maoist rebels in insurgency-riddled eastern and central states. Addressing reporters in Raichur in Karnataka, Singh said police and paramilitary forces would be deployed effectively to tackle Maoists.
