Promoting friendly ties between India and Pakistan

A three-day golf tournament between teams from Indian Punjab and Pakistani Punjab was organized in Chandigarh recently. The tournament was organized with the aim to furthering India-Pakistan ties through people-to-people contact. The Punjab Golf Tournament was held for the first time in 2005 when it was decided between the Punjab Golf Associations of both Indian and Pakistani Punjab to send contingents to each others' countries, alternately.
