Protests continue to track down Anderson

While eight people were convicted in the Bhopal gas tragedy case, the main accused, the Union Carbide ex-CEO Warren Anderson is still at large in the US. And while, there are continuous protests in India demanding his arrest, even the influential New Jersey Congressman Frank Pallone has said Anderson deserves to be extradited from the US and stand trial in India in connection with the Bhopal case. Many political parties have been protesting since a magistrate court announced its verdict on Bhopal tragedy on June 07. Soon after the judgment, which came after a court case lasting nearly 25 years, the controversy regarding the extradition of Anderson and the circumstances in which he fled from India has grabbed headlines in the Indian media.
