Rescue work in full swing at flood-hit Haryana, Punjab

Army carried on the relief operations in full swing in Kurukshetra region of Haryana after floodwaters entered many low-lying areas. Reportedly, many streams and canals had breached, inundating the agricultural fields in the vicinity and also the thoroughfares, disrupting traffic and electricity supply. In neighbouring Punjab too, the encroachments of Buddha Nala, a seasonal water stream in Ludhiana, breached its embankments leading to flooding of the region, submerging vast stretches of agricultural land.
