Restoration of autonomy in J&K essential: Farooq

Farooq Abdullah, former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir, said on Thursday that restoration of autonomy in the state is very important to bring back peace and normalcy to the region. After a daylong National Conference Working Committee meeting, Abdullah said that there have been huge losses of life and property during the recent unrest, and people of the state should come forward for the restoration of peace. Kashmir has been witnessing a series of demonstrations against the killing of some youths in police firing for more than a month now.
