The hope of peace talks between Indian Government and the banned United Liberation Front of Assam (ULFA) brightened with the government's interlocutor P.C. Haldar indicating that the dialogue process may begin soon. Haldar on Wednesday said that the government and the ULFA leadership were ready to start the parleys to bring the much-needed peace to India's troubled northeastern state. But he refused to give the exact time frame when the talks could begin.
