Farmers in Jammu and Kashmir face an uncertain future as blossoming flowers of various fruits are severely damaged because of unseasonal snowfall in the region. For the farmers, the flowers are an indicator of the arrival of spring, but the snowfall has spelt doom on the prospects of a good yield. Freshly sprout blooms are covered under thick layers of snow. The worst effected are apricot, almond, peach and plum cultivation.
