Uphaar tragedy: Victims still await justice

Kins and relatives remembered their loved ones as fire tragedy in Delhi's Uphaar cinema, which claimed 59 lives enters entered its 16th year on Thursday. Disappointed family members claimed that they are still fighting for justice.At least 59 people were killed and over 100 were injured in a massive inferno that engulfed south Delhi's Uphaar theatre on June 13, 1997 during the screening of the film, 'Border.' Reportedly, the fire was caused after an overheated generator burst in the basement of the building. A memorial was built for the victims near the premises of the Uphaar theatre. Kin of the victims visited the memorial and paid floral tribute to their loved ones.
