The police cane charged a section of workers, of Damodar valley corporation, who were demanding better service conditions in the industrial town Durgapur, on Wednessday. The police resorted to force following complaints that the agitating workers were blocking their colleagues from going to work. Their demands included an increase in wages and permanent jobs.
