Sleuths of the anticorruption branch (ACB) on Friday recovered several crores of bribe money from the house of a sub-assistant engineer of Bally Municipality. Most of the money was found hidden behind bathroom tiles and the roof top water tank. ACB investigators raided Pranab Adhikari's residence on the basis of a complaint filed by a builder, who claimed that the engineer wanted a bribe of 1 lakh to regularise the building that he had built. The officials recovered bundles of currency notes hidden inside box beds and even the cistern and commode of an unused bathroom and several other places of the house, said a senior officer of the unit.
