India-China military talks on the cards, focus on Hot Springs & Depsang

India & China didn’t make much headway in another round of diplomatic talks yesterday. The Working Mechanism for Consultation & Coordination met virtually for the first time since November. Both sides agreed to continue talks & to convene the meet of senior military commanders at an early date. The two sides pulled back frontline troops from the North & South banks of Pangong lake in February 2021. Apart from the North & South banks of Pangong, the two sides pulled back troops from Gogra in august 2021. So far, no forward movement on disengagement at key friction points such as Hot Springs & Depsang.
