NATO goes without US in Atlantic as European allies hunt Russian submarines?

NATO reportedly conducted a major anti-submarine operation near Iceland without U.S. ships or aircraft for the first time in decades, according to Politico. European allies and Canada took a larger role in monitoring the strategically vital GIUK Gap amid concerns over Russian nuclear submarines and growing pressure from Trump for allies to shoulder more of NATO’s defence burden.
