New U.S fast-attack submarine does it all! Battle group operations, mine warfare

The U.S. recently commissioned the fast-attack submarine USS Oregon at naval submarine base in Connecticut. The submarine will be able to dive to depths greater than 800ft & operate at speeds in excess of 25 knots submerged. Attack submarines are designed to seek & destroy enemy submarines and surface ships; project power ashore. The fast-attack submarine is 377 feet long, has a 34-foot beam & a crew of approximately 136 navy personnel. Undersea battlespace - U.S. relies on speed, endurance, mobility, stealth & payload afforded by nuclear power.
