Achinta Sheuli extends India’s Gold run at CWG; PM Modi hails ‘Yuva Shakti'

The winning streak of Indian weightlifters continues at the Commonwealth Games 2022 in Birmingham. Debutant Achinta Sheuli bagged 3rd gold for India in 73kg men's category. The 20-year-old smashed games record by lifting 313kg (143kg+170kg) to win the gold. PM Modi also congratulated Achinta for his winning feat. Earlier in the day, 19-year-old weightlifter Jeremy Lalrinnunga won gold in Men's 67kg category. So far India has won 6 medals including 3 golds, 2 silvers and one bronze.
