Indian Army gets its first woman combat aviator. Captain Abhilasha Barak scripts history as she joins the Army Aviation Corps as a combat aviator. This landmark day has come thirty years after India began inducting women as officers in the armed forces. Captain Barak hails from Haryana's Rohtak and is the daughter of a retired colonel. She was commissioned in the Army Air Defence Corps in September 2018. She was awarded the coveted wings along with 36 other army pilots by the Director-General and Colonel Commandant of Army Aviation during a valedictory ceremony held at the Combat Army Aviation Training School in Nashik.
