Developed vs developing countries at COP26: What will be India's stand?

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Glasgow in the United Kingdom to attend the COP26 conference aimed at addressing the problem of climate change. Hindustan Times' editor-in-chief Sukumar Ranganathan and senior editor Aditi Prasad discuss what India's stand is likely to be at the conference, in light of the recent IPCC report which said that the world is going to miss the key target of limiting global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius below pre-industrial levels. However, more importantly, the world might also miss the 2 degrees Celsius target if strict measures are not undertaken. In order to implement these, developed countries need to pull their weight and help developing countries adopt environment-friendly technologies without an adverse impact on their economies.
