DGCA steps in after 2 mid-air scare for fliers due to bird hits

India’s aviation safety regulator has asked airports to work on managing the threat of bird strikes to flights. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) asked airports to ensure strict implementation of wildlife hazard management policies and review their plan. This comes after three flights made an emergency landing on Sunday. “During the monsoon season birds and animals’ activity increases in and around airports. Their movement in the aerodrome vicinity poses a serious threat to aircraft operational safety,” said DGCA in an advisory. Watch the full video for more.
