The Jammu and Kashmir police averted a cross-border terror plot on Friday. Police shot down a drone carrying IED material weighing 5kg in Akhnoor sector. Officials said there was input about a drone flying over the border belt of Kanachak. Officials said a police quick reaction team shot it down using an anti-drone strategy. Meanwhile, two Lashkar terrorists were killed in an overnight encounter in Baramulla. Police said the slain terrorists included a top commander of Lashkar-e-Toiba outfit. Police added that the terrorists were identified as Fayaz Ahmad War & Shaheen Ahmad Mir. Security forces launched a cordon-&-search operation in the Warpora area of Sopore. Operation was launched following specific information about the presence of terrorists. Police said two AK-47 rifles & four magazines were also recovered from the encounter site.
