‘If they can…’: Oppn MPs react to govt proposal to raise women marriage age

Opposition parties are up in arms against Modi govt's proposal to raise the marriage age of women to 21. Samajwadi party leaders and AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi have strongly opposed the proposal. Owaisi in his scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi accused his government of 'typical paternalism'. SP MP Shafiqur Rahman Barq cited poverty in the country for his opposition to the government proposal. Barq's colleague and another SP MP ST Hasan went on to suggest that girls should be married when they attain the age of fertility. Watch the full video for more.
