'Islam will be…': IAS officer faces conversion probe in U.P over viral videos

A senior IAS officer in Uttar Pradesh is facing a government enquiry after his videos where he was purportedly preaching Islam went viral. The 1985 batch IAS officer, Mohammad Iftikharuddin, is currently the commissioner of U.P state roadways transport corporation in Lucknow and the videos are reportedly from his days as the Commissioner of Kanpur division between 2014-2016. The videos first appeared on right-wing Twitter handles and then went viral on social media. The officer has been accused by a complainant of indulging in converting non-Muslims to Islam while also accusing him of violating service rules by using government accommodation for religious preaching.
