MoS Finance, Anurag Thakur, spoke in the Rajya Sabha during the discussion on Union Budget 2021. Countering opposition’s ‘khaas’ budget jibe, Thakur said that this budget would pave the way for the country to be self-reliant. Thakur said that the Modi government has worked the most for the poor of the country and added that there is no taint of corruption on his government. Thakur also cited the Modi government’s fugitive economic offenders bill to act against those who fled the country after financial frauds.
