Watch: PM Modi launches new e-RUPI for digital payment

Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the e-RUPI digital payment system on August 2. It is a digital voucher which is person and purpose-specific. It is sent either as a QR code or SMS string to the mobile phone of the beneficiary. This code or SMS is then scanned by the welfare service provider to complete the transaction. The government says that the system can help plug leaks in the welfare system. Watch the full video for more.
