Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov alleged that European Union “hawks,” Ukrainian officials, and Western allies are actively undermining Moscow–Washington diplomacy, causing delays and cancellations in proposed high-level meetings on Ukraine. In a Moscow interview, Lavrov said the US faces “unbelievable pressure” from Europe and Kyiv to avoid any American-Russian cooperation, noting a Trump–Putin summit in Budapest was postponed at the initiators’ request. Lavrov criticized EU attempts to block peace efforts, praised Russia’s openness to negotiations under “certain conditions,” and referenced Zelensky’s claims of new anti-Russia sanctions tied to his Trump meeting.
