An orange alert for heavy rainfall has been issued by the India Meteorological Department as continuous rain over the past 24 hours triggered landslides and other rain-related incidents in Shimla.
A landslide was reported in the Vikas Nagar area, where a portion of the road gave way, putting a nearby house at risk. The incident has raised concerns among residents living in vulnerable areas as heavy rainfall continues to affect parts of the state.
The ongoing rain has also increased the risk of further landslides and disruption to roads and infrastructure in hilly areas.
