Putin's 'Ideal Weapon': The Kinzhal hypersonic system

The 'Kinzhal', meaning 'Dagger', is Russia's airborne hypersonic missile system. Designed to destroy ground and sea targets, Russia claims the missile has no rivals in the world. Kinzhal missile carried on modified MiG-31 jets; reports say the Tu-22M3 bombers may be modified too. The missile is reportedly capable of manoeuvrable flight. Russia has declared the Kinzhal to be dual-capable; qualified to carry conventional and nuclear warheads.
