Serbia on the edge: Opponents & supporters of President Vucic clash

Hundreds of riot police intervened in central Belgrade on Sunday to separate supporters and opponents of Serbia’s autocratic president, Aleksandar Vučić, as political tensions flared following a year of anti-government unrest. Several thousand people gathered on both sides of police barricades, with officers in full riot gear forming tight lines between rival crowds who hurled bottles and flares amid heated confrontations.
