Dhoni named captain of ICC ODI team

A panel, chaired by former West Indian captain Clive Lloyd, named Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni as the skipper and wicket keeper of the ICC World ODI team for 2011. Lloyd said that Dhoni's contribution to Indian and world cricket has been immense. The ICC World XI also included Indian opening batsman Virender Sehwag, all-rounder Yuvraj Singh and pace bowler Zaheer Khan. The ICC also inducted three former players, Alan Davidson, Curtly Ambrose and Belinda Clark, into its Hall of Fame. Davidson and Ambrose played as fast bowlers for Australia and the West Indies respectively, with Test match tallies of 186 and 405 wickets.
