'Afghanistan will become pariah state if...": top Biden official warns in India

United States has warned Afghanistan will become a "pariah state" if Taliban insurgents forcefully takeover the country and curtail the rights of its residents including women. U.S Secretary of State Antony Blinken who is on a 2-day visit to India said that there is no military solution to Afghanistan and that both Afghan government and Taliban need to come to the negotiating table for a peaceful resolution of the conflict. Blinken was speaking to media after meeting External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar. In his address to the press, Jaishankar said that India favours a peaceful, democratic and a sovereign Afghanistan. He called out Pakistan for its backing of Taliban insurgents in Afghanistan and said that the country must not become a safe haven for terrorists.
