Arabs and Jews unite over love of backgammon

Sheshbesh, as the board game is popularly called in the local language, backgammon is uniting Arabs & Jews. A backgammon contest in Jerusalem seeks to celebrate culture differences and put aside political divisions between Arabs and Jews. The Israeli-Palestinian conflict takes a backseat when the people of two ethnicities come together. The contest has been held 6 times in the recent months. Who knew a board game could sort culture differences, even for a short while!
