The Taliban insurgents in Afghanistan have warned of a prolonged conflict if President Ashraf Ghani stays in power. Taliban spokesman Suhail Shaheen told AP in an interview that for a peace deal in Afghanistan, Ghani must be removed and a negotiated Islamic government should be formed. Hours after the ultimatum, U.S president Joe Biden spoke to President Ghani, assuring full support to his government that is currently battling an advancing Taliban across the country.
