Israeli spy tech makes its way into third-largest Muslim country | Watch to know

An Israeli firm sold advanced surveillance equipment to Sheikh Hasina-led Bangladesh government. Haaretz reported that Bangladesh's national telecommunication monitoring centre (NTMC) bought the spy technology last year. NTM is an arm of Bangladesh's interior ministry that eavesdrops on citizens, controls social media use, etc. According to Haaretz, the spearhead system is used to intercept mobile and internet traffic. It belongs to Passitora, a firm registered in Cyprus managed by Tal Dilian, an ex-Israeli commander. Bangladesh, like most Muslim countries, has no diplomatic relations with Israel.
