A bomb went off as the arrival of Abdul Rasheed, a fireband JUI-F leader, was being announced. Bajaur is a district in Pakistan's tense Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. The district near the Afghan border is a stronghold of the Pakistani Taliban. Initial investigations suggested the Islamic State group, a rival of the Afghan Taliban, could be behind the attack.
