NASA astronaut shows how to make a sandwich in space
NASA astronaut, Shane Kimbrough, aboard the International Space Station (ISS), demonstrated his food preparation skills as he made a space peanut butter and jelly sandwich. A video uploaded on Friday (April 21) shows Kimbrough, the Expedition 50 commander, preparing a peanut butter and jelly filled tortilla and explaining the challenges of cooking meals in orbit. The astronaut says the trick is to secure the gravity-defying ingredients with tape to prevent them from floating away. Kimbrough said everything floats around if you don’t manage it and so they have some tape to stick things on, on the table here, as well as a bunch of Velcro. Kimbrough returned to earth on April 10, landing in Kazakhstan at 7:20 a.m. (1120 GMT) after spending 173 days in space.
