Protests erupt after US SC’s potential move to strike down abortion rights

Protests erupted after the news that U.S. Supreme Court may overturn the Roe v. Wade ruling which legalized abortion. Pro-abortion supporters gathered outside the court chanting ‘My choice, my life’ and brandishing placards. A leaked initial draft majority opinion suggests the court has voted to overturn Roe v. Wade, Politico reported. Meanwhile, Anti-abortion activists chanted ‘hey, hey, ho, ho, Roe v. Wade has got to go’. U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi condemned the move by ‘Republican-appointed justices’. Pelosi said that the move will inflict the greatest restriction of rights on Americans.
