This year's Nobel Prize winners in the field of physics, chemistry, medicine, literature and economics receive their awards at a royal ceremony in Stockholm. Winners include scientists who made discoveries in the properties of ultra-thin materials, molecular machines that could one day fight cancer, and a groundbreaking study of the body's “self-eating” cells that recycle themselves. Literature laureate Bob Dylan didn't make it to the ceremony. Rock singer Patti Smith accepted the prize on his behalf.
