Former Maldives Vice President Ahmed Abeed spoke out on the ongoing diplomatic spat between India and Maldives over President Muizzu’s ministers insulting the Indian Prime Minister. Speaking to Hindustan Times’ Aditi Prasad, the former Vice President said that India has helped Male every time the country has faced a crisis and added that the country could be heading towards another financial crisis. He added that he hopes the President reaches out to PM Modi and calms the tensions as it would be very difficult for Maldives to tackle the situation with India’s assistance.
